Jurnal Nasional Kedokteran Komunitas dan Keselamatan Kerja (JNKKK) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality academic research in community medicine, occupational health and safety (OHS/K3), industrial hygiene, and preventive clinical practice. Serving as an authoritative platform for occupational health physicians, community medicine specialists, epidemiologists, industrial hygienists, and safety managers, JNKKK focuses on protective, preventive, promotive, and curative paradigms in population health. The journal prioritizes empirical studies, clinical epidemiology investigations, and field interventions aimed at mitigating workplace hazards, controlling occupational diseases, and enhancing community well-being.

Scope and Topics

JNKKK invites original empirical research, systematic literature reviews, clinical case reports in occupational health, and policy evaluations. Core domains of inquiry include, but are not limited to:

  • Occupational Medicine & Industrial Health: Work-related injuries, occupational diseases, ergonomics, industrial toxicology, occupational respiratory/dermatological disorders, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.

  • Community Medicine & Preventive Health: Community-oriented primary care, family medicine practice, epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases, health risk appraisals, and lifestyle interventions.

  • Occupational Safety & Health Management: OHS management systems (ISO 45001/SMK3 implementation), safety risk assessment methodologies, accident investigation, safety climate, and emergency preparedness in industrial settings.

  • Environmental & Workplace Hygiene: Industrial ventilation, physical/chemical/biological hazard monitoring, personal protective equipment (PPE) efficiency, and environmental health risk assessment.

  • Health Promotion & Behavioral Safety: Workplace wellness programs, mental health and psychosocial risks at work (burnout/stress management), and community health education models.

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Nasional Kedokteran Komunitas dan Keselamatan Kerja (JNKKK) is published biannually (2 issues per year: June and December), operating an online-first publication pipeline to guarantee rapid editorial processing and open-access availability.

Peer Review Process

To ensure high scientific quality and clinical validity, JNKKK employs a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. Every submitted manuscript undergoes preliminary desk screening by the Editorial Board to assess scope relevance, ethical compliance (including institutional review board approval and clinical ethics), and similarity index parameters. Submissions passing desk review are evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers with specialized domain expertise in occupational health or community medicine. Review criteria emphasize epidemiological and statistical rigor, methodological precision, clinical/industrial applicability, and clarity of presentation.
